ASCAP commissioned Already Alive in celebration of their 100th year anniversary to tell the story of the importance of music with the individuals who create it. Already Alive's founder and director Michael Marantz sat down with fifteen musicians, ranging from Bill Withers to Aloe Blacc to Lady Antebellum, to discuss their labor of love, songwriting and composing. Marantz composed the song that plays throughout the film by using musical or lyrical elements from the fifteen musicians who participated in the film.
