xAd Mixed Reality Fashion Show
META worked with Superbright to build a first-of-its-kind Mixed Reality (MR) fashion show for xAd, the global leader in location intelligence that drives sales, during its first-ever conference in September of 2016. The installation revolved around real fashion models on a custom designed runway, using AR technology to create a virtual environment on stage. The audience interacted with the synchronized 3D experience through a custom built application on their mobile devices or provided iPads.

This experience used AR technology to make an already polished fashion show exponentially richer with real-time 3D content that was not only intriguing, but also relevant from a viewer perspective. The AR content was ‘anchored’ on the runway and the surrounding stage using two 12' custom designed markers. The experience was also reactive to the physical models, as Superbright controlled timing and placement of the digital content throughout the show via a custom web socket. At the end of the show we connected a crowd of over 200 people to xAd’s technology and Lindsay Frimodt's fashion collection - a huge contextual and technological achievement.
