“On Tuesday night, 800 lucky Goose fans snaked they way through the Shed at Hudson Yards to enter a world where music and art fused in a swirling, electric dreamscape. At the heart of it all: Goose, the genre-defying band whose meteoric rise has shattered expectations, playing an electrifying set inside Luna Luna to celebrate its new album, Everything Must Go.
From the moment the doors opened, it was clear this wasn’t just another concert, but an immersive experience designed to transport fans deep into the band’s surreal visual universe. Inside the traveling art carnival, luminescent characters lifted straight from the album’s illustrations roamed the venue, their exaggerated features and costumes making the crowd feel as if they had stepped right off the album cover. Bathed in the neon glow of Basquiats, Keith Herrings, and Dalís, the space pulsed with tunes spun by producer Abe Seiferth, along with an energy that felt both nostalgic and futuristic, as if Luna Luna had been waiting decades for this exact moment.
Amidst the carnival, members of Goose clad in animal onesies made their way to the center of the room and loaded onto an intimate circular stage, where they tore through a jam-heavy, hypnotic set that wove seamlessly into the psychedelic surroundings. The band played for just over an hour, their sound crackling through the space like a current, synchronized with swirling lights and the moves of the costumed characters. Stuart Bogie joined the band on woodwinds.
The creative mastermind behind the evening’s immersive elements was Justin Bolognino of Meta, an experiential agency that transforms live events into visceral, multi-sensory experiences.
"Goose brought me on to bolster what they do musically with something even bigger,” Bolognino said. "If you look at Everything Must Go, it’s filled with these illustrated characters, so the concept was simple: what if we brought them to life inside Luna Luna? How better to show the world that Goose is more than a jam band—that they’re artists of the highest caliber—than by placing them inside of iconic art?"
Bolognino pointed out that experiential events like this aren’t a trend—they’re a necessity in an era where digital saturation has left audiences craving something tangible. “People want visceral experiences,” he said. “Our characters got in your face, pulled you around, made you feel something. That’s what we’re trying to do—because in the digital world, you don’t feel anything but anger anymore.”
For Goose, the event was just the beginning. The band’s first-ever festival in Cabo San José, Mexico is on the horizon, promising another deep dive into immersive artistry. Beyond that, Bolognino plans to continue pushing boundaries with the band and otherwise, with projects like Spirit Lake, a mind-bending world within the annual Hulaween festival, and a forthcoming documentary on the psychedelic renaissance.
But Tuesday was about Goose—about the music, the art, and the magic of Luna Luna. As the final notes rang out and the lights dimmed, the crowd emerged from the experience as if they too had stepped inside the album and lived within its surrealist world, even if just for an evening.
